Food Systems
Trail description
Food not only nourishes the human body – it drives economies, shapes cultures and
connects families and communities. In the Food Systems General Education Trail, students
will trek through the interconnected world of food from seed to society. Through impactful
and experiential learning opportunities such as the OSU Student Farm, students will
explore the science of food, nutrition and horticulture, discover a variety of cultural
perspectives on food, and consider the complex economic and environmental challenges
facing our food systems.
