Movement of People and Animals
Trail description
Inspired by the importance of the movement of humans and animals to the history of
Oklahoma, the Movement of People and Animals trail introduces students to the topic
through both a historical and contemporary lens. Courses will help students understand
this movement as a strategic tool and response to environmental, political, social,
cultural, and economic variables, often simultaneously experienced. Students will
draw connections across time and between human and nonhuman animal movement. Course
offerings consider a variety of different types of migration and how these impact
culture, language, and governmental policies.
